Having first opened the doors to Hartley’s in 1990, owner Ruth Hartley has pioneered a fantastic reputation for exceptional standards in beauty therapy that continues to set The Hartley Beauty Salon apart 25 years on.
Ruth was born and grew up in Lytham St Annes, before training at Park School of Beauty Therapy, where she graduated with the prestigious CIDESCO Diploma in Beauty Therapy in addition to being crowned Student of the Year.
Seeking to add to her areas of expertise, Ruth later embarked on a journey to further her training in Paris, France, where she learned more about specialist treatments such as microdermabrasion and non-surgical facelifts, and first became familiar with the salon exclusive skincare range Resultime.

When I first opened Hartley’s back in 1990, I wanted to deliver a unique experience that captured the elegance and sophistication that Lytham St Annes has always been renowned for.
I envisioned my name above the door of a luxurious and warming salon where clients could walk through the door and instantly feel at ease; a tranquil haven where women and men of all ages could come to switch off, relax and unwind whilst either chatting away to their therapists or being allowed to drift off to a quiet haven without feeling obligated to make conversation.
Now, 25 years on, I am proud to say we’ve achieved that.
Whereas the science that drives the beauty industry continues to evolve, as must we, I think a huge part of the reason that Hartley’s has achieved success is because of the fact that we’ve always remained true to our original values.
Despite the fact that new cosmetics and technologies are being released every month, we have stuck to what we know works. And we know what works because we have always encouraged open and honest feedback from our clients. That’s why I still swear by Resultime products to this very day!
I therefore owe a massive thank you to each and every one of our lovely clients for your loyalty and ongoing support. Without you, none of what we have achieved over the past few decades would have ever been possible.
